Dial Tone Database Recovery
When an Exchange database becomes corrupt or fails unexpectedly, restoring user access quickly is a top priority. Dial Tone Recovery provides a practical solution by allowing users to continue sending and receiving emails through a temporary, empty database—known as a dial tone database—while the original database is being repaired.
This approach minimizes downtime and keeps communication flowing during critical recovery operations. Once the failed database is restored, mailbox data can be merged back seamlessly without disrupting user activity.
With EdbMails Exchange Server Recovery, the restoration process becomes more efficient. It helps extract data from the damaged database and simplifies merging it back into the dial tone database. This step-by-step guide walks you through the entire process, ensuring smooth recovery and uninterrupted service.
Steps to create dial tone database
- Login to Exchange Server using Administrator credentials.
- Press Win + R, type Services.msc and click the ‘OK’
- Stop the services like Microsoft Exchange Search Service, Microsoft Exchange Search Host Controller Service, and Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service.
